"The guy that throws lightning bolts ... Yeah, that's what I want to see." -- Central-KY-Kid's reaction when he heard 'Thor' was going to be released in a few years.

Side effect of Marvel taking direct control of its movies (which explains the "what? so soon?" remake of The Hulk).

Have heard rumblings from the More Geek Than Thou crowd that we could be a few summers away from an assemblage of Avengers.

Hot rumor is that Brad Pitt will play Thor.
And that's more in line with the current story line, with Thor being part human and part god and two different characters depending on the aspect.
They'll work out the Thor part with CGI or figure something else out.
I have no doubt about an Avengers movie.

I ALMOST posted this on the Iron Man thread. This story says The Avengers movie will be July 2011, a couple months after the Captain America movie.

Never been a big Avengers fan . . .but the old-school comics are quality stuff.

As long as they don't try to sell Ant-Man (or Giant man, for that matter), and if they get the casting right, this could be great.

Marvel could have saved the debacle that was X3.

    OK, maybe not.

Who are they talking about to play Captain America?

That's one that just seems doomed to bomb. I'm sure it's only a matter of time until we have Green Lantern and Wondertwins films... Entourage is probably the only reason they're not doing an Aquaman...

Nah, DC's not doing an Aquaman movie because he's lame. :D

  9. Mizzou - you know that Captain America is Marvel and Green Lantern and Aquaman are DC - right? Never the twain shall meet.

Ant-Man is in the works as well.

I'm proud to say I did not know that... I've never opened a comic book in my life...

Why would any of that prevent them from making separate movies?

  12. It wouldn't prevent separate movies. I thought you were suggesting lumping them all together.
