Nelson Mandela to be honored in Monument Park

    He is one of the few non-athletes to receive this honor.

    Robinson Cano could have one day earned a placque among all the Yankee greats and world leaders that have visited Yankee Stadium, but no more...

    The money is nice, I'm sure, but I don't know how you can pass up immortality. If he had stayed, centuries from now his name would still be there on that wall with the other legends.

    I hear there's a men's room wall behind Section 312 with lots of other names and numbers of Yankee Stadium legends. Angie from the Bronx, Cindy from Staten Island, Derek from Michigan, who can field it deep in the hole ... they're all there.
    In all seriousness, look on the bright side. Now they'll have room on the wall for A-Rod's name.
