I've been in the pool-to-call several times, haven't had to go yet but I would like to be picked just once.

This is an interesting dilemma. Sacrifice your dignity to get off jury duty?

Dignity? Hell, I'd sacrifice a virgin to get out of it.

    Anyone know one?

I love the inspired, comedic responses on the thread, but I'll make my standard, square-dude response to such threads:

You live in America. Suck it up and serve on a jury.

Seriously, the Princess Leia costume's supposed to be foolproof.

Shoot... just letting the courtroom know that you're an educated person in the media should be enough to have you out of the courtroom by noon. At least it was for me!

Sure. His last known address was in Gainesville, Florida.

Didn't work for me. I've been seated on juries in city, county and federal courts. Then again, in a couple cases, the defendants copped pleas when they saw that a jury was seated.

I've served twice, and really enjoyed it. Lots of interesting folks.

But I'm with Del. Just do it. Primarily, because if I ever commit a crime, I want a jury of my peers, not people who were not clever enough to get out of jury duty.

Can't complain the system doesn't work if we're not willing to engage it.
