    Mother ...
That's what happens when you have a couple of browser windows open and get sucked into a hopeless Facebook battle about the merits of the wealth tax that is making the veins in your forehead stick out.

UAB's Senior Day was Saturday. The last two players who were on the 2014 team that was shut down graduated. The rest of the seniors came to UAB when they knew that there would be no games for them for either one or two years, depending on when they signed. First year back, eight wins and a bowl. Second year, a conference championship and a bowl win. This season was a rebuilding year - the team lost all the starting WRs, 4 of 5 on the OL, and 8 of 11 starters on D. The preseason all-conference CB took a season ending injury before game one. The Blazers were rated as 4th or 5th in C-USA West - after winning the conference last season.

They're sitting at eight wins, and if they win at North Texas and Southern Miss loses, they'll win the division. The players that graduated were 18-0 at home, not losing a home game since #The Return, the #4 active home win streak. The defense is elite again this season, maybe better than last year's. It's been a helluva run.

C-USA has eight teams bowl eligible, which may be a bigger surprise.

Talk about being "On the verge" all the time and Rutgers was on the verge of hanging around with the upper echelon boys for awhile. This was the time when Boise had solidified itself as a monster in the making ... South Florida was rising up ... Kansas and Missouri were ranked something like 2 and 3 ... and Rutgers under Schiano rose all the way to No. 7 which was so beyond extreme if you grew up watching college football in the '80s and '90s.

This was the game Rutgers became RUTGERS! for a while anyway. I watched this game in a Central Jersey newsroom.

Rutgers couldn't quite handle being No. 7.

But they came back to beat No. 2 ... South Florida! in 2007.

Rutgers was so close ... on the verge ... and Schiano left for greener pastures and football sucks in Piscataway again.

Yes, but they were 49-24 under Schiano from '06 thru '11.

In all seriousness...when one of the top boosters cuts you off, there's a major disconnect somewhere.

If Rutgers operates like Pitt the athletic director who has alienated everyone will get a contract extension.
