Naturally, Ohio State will get hit with some scholarship losses, thereby making some kids pay for their education for something they did not do, plus some fines or crap, instead of anything major. But Tressel? I've got to imagine he's going to get hit hard for this.

 

Youngstown State and Wright State are going to suffer.

Get real. Hiding a couple pieces of information is nothing... Did you not hear the last press conference? President Gee all but reports to Sweatervest.

That quote was severely undercovered.

President of a Big Ten university talking about a head football coach at a press conference to announce that said head football coach lied his ass off and will face sanctions.

Read that sentence again.

"I just hope he doesn't fire me!"

Maybe people gave Gee a pass because of his history of sticking his foot in his mouth (ex. "Little Sisters of the Poor"), but that was an inexcusable comment to make given the circumstances and the perception already out there.

 

For reasons dating back to his tenure at my alma mater (CMU), I am convinced that Brian Kelly is made of Teflon.

 

The difference is, though, is that the ND coach can play dumb:

"Duhh, I didn't know high winds could actually knock down video scaffolds?"

What's Tressel supposed to say?

"Duhh, I didn't know it was illegal to lie to the NCAA?"

 

Technically, killing somebody isn't an NCAA violation.

 

Yeah. Only a violation if you pay for players to go to the funeral.
