Five teams from the West and my beloved alma mater not only isn't in, but didn't (rightfully) get a vote.

    Damn Black Bears.

The rise of the SEC West is exactly why the BigTen12 shouldn't have given a damn which way it broke up its teams. Ten years ago, it was the East that was kicking ass and taking names. Conference has done a complete 180 on division strength.

Very true. The Big 12 did a similar flip. The ACC tried to set up a Florida State-Miami title game each year and we all know how well that worked.

The schedule is hardly the most pressing issue. Nebraska's problems lie more with having a frail diva for a quarterback, a consistently underperforming offensive line, a backfield without an every-down runner, huge holes to fill in the secondary and a head coach who can be charitably described as "combustible."
