    Interesting that the last two Pac-10 teams to receive meaningful sanctions were both major, major hitters: Washington, which at the time (1993) was a national power, and SC, which has arguably been the best program in the country since 2002. Both got significant scholarship reductions and multi-year bowl bans, which is the only real way to get anyone's attention.
