If Melo gets called on the bs foul on Pierce, then KG has to be called for the illegal screen by throwing the hip on Toney Douglas. Knicks got hosed.

Ray Allen makes a bomb with less than 10 seconds left, Knicks, who have led the whole game, get it to Melo, who has been relatively non-existent all night, and he jacks a three over Allen, front rim, game over. Celtics had a foul to give, but they didn't use it, and it didn't matter.

The fact of the matter is, Anthony is one of those odd superior talents (there's no denying that) who you're better off without.

I thought the Melo call was bullcrap, too, because the contact was equal and nobody got an advantage, but I'm not going to blame the refs, and it comes down to the Knicks didn't defend the game-winning play.

    You're channeling George Karl here.

    Seems like a Syracuse thing.

Holy Bull -- if the Melo play is a foul then the KG play is a foul. The reason why the Knicks didn't defend the play is that KG threw his hip out to rub off Dou
    glas.

But you're never going to get that call, at that stage in any game. Like I said, the Melo call looked like a lousy one, but you can't say the Knicks got hosed. They had every chance to win or tie, and all they could come up with was that sorry three attempt by Melo.

please. the only reason they were in the situation is a terrible call. if you start the game at 21 seconds, then you are right. but at the crucial time, they game was not called evenly.

You make it sound like the refs created an unwinnable situation for the Knicks. But it wasn't. They still had plenty of time to get a decent shot, and they didn't do that, but they still got something, a contested three by Melo. He missed. The Celtics made their shot.

Folks complaining about the Melo offensive foul on Pierce, the non-call on KG's screen should also address the whistle not blowing after Melo bumped Pierce near half-court on the C's final possession.
