So Chicago grabs the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, and during what was a 20 second interview, whoever was repping Chicago gave the number for season-ticket sales.
    Stunning.

    Isn't Derrick Rose from Chicago?

Yes, but I'll be very surprised if it isn't Beasley. They have guards. They don't have a scoring presence down low.

What a question! "So who are you going to take with the #1 pick?" Like he was going to answer...

It was very amusing, especially given that the Bulls had a 1.7% chance of winning the whole thing and he probably had to memorize the number in case lightning struck him.

And yes, Rose is from Chi-town.

seeing as how that guy is the exec vp of business operations, not basketball ops doris burke, it's pretty reasonable for him to do his job on nat'l tv.

Gotta take the hometown kid and ship Kirk Hinrich out of town, no?

They need to take Rose. They have Thomas, Noah, Deng and even Nocioni and Gooden in the frontcourt (admittedly not up on everyone's contract status). With Hinrich regressing so badly, how can they pass on Rose, who I think is the best player in the draft anyways.

    Because Rose can't shoot?

Better field goal percentage as a freshman than Chris Paul had in his last year in school. You wouldn't be looking for him to come off picks and knock down 3's. He has good enough form that he won't be a liability shooting the ball and he does everything else so well that he more than makes up for it IMO.
