If Sonic sponsors the hometown Thunder, greater Seattle will go apeshit all over again.

I remember my old man - a hardcore Celtic man - went apoplectic when they put names and numbers on the back of their jersies. When they put the sponsor's name on the front he just shrugged and said, "Somebody has to pay the bills."

Maybe Man U should have splattered this logo across their jerseys:

Promote your OWN brand, not some goddamn cellphone company.

Because some of us like to watch a game and know which team is playing without the help of the scoreboard.

Some teams change uniform color combinations so often (Arizona Diamondbacks) that I can never recognize who they are until the team name flashes on the screen.

That, plus some of us grew up rooting for teams that included the uniform. Keep changing the uniform, and it's hard to keep rooting for the laundry.

I have no problem with commericialism, I just don't want it where it doesn't belong. Name the arena after whoever you want, sell ads all over the arena, whore yourself out to TV companies. Hell, put ads on the court (surprised that hasn't been done yet).

But, the uniform is supposed to promote the TEAM. Fans wear them because they have the team's logo, not a Coke or Pepsi logo.

The advertising could lead to more uniform stability, actually. NASCAR and soccer teams look the same every time. Besides, how many teams haven't changed their uniforms in the past 20 years?

    That said, imagine the possibilities...

Dwight Howard with a day care center on his shirt.

    Kobe with a marriage counselor.

The Wizards sponsored by someone that helps you make good decisions, instead of stupid ones.

The Raptors sponsored by the makers of the Where's Waldo books, since, you know, they don't stand out?

There goes Billy Beane's "We're not selling jeans here" credo.

I'd like to see an adidas logo tattooed on David Stern's forehead.

They're stupid not to. I can't believe it has taken this long in the U.S.

To be fair, the Rays have changed uniforms more than the Diamondbacks.

Penn State's uniforms will be as clean as the actions of a former head coach, AD, and president.
