I'm sitting next to a Celtics honk/freak who's "nervous". Whatever. Couple of us are pulling for Larry Bird/Indiana to pull it off just for the ensuing hilarity it would bring us.

Just like ESPN to turn this draft lottery into a "show." ... didn't this used to last 30 minutes, tops?

It started at 5:30 MDT with the "prelottery" show. Just draw the balls already.

I think each team should be represented by a previous draft bust.

Grizzlies could have Bryant Reeves there.
    Celtics could have Acie Earl
Hawks could have Marvin Williams and Josh Childress and Jon Koncak and ....

    Play along.

I'd love to see the Pacer get and bring Greg Oden home to Indy :D

They just sent the results out to the stage with a guy escorted by the head of NBA security. Like something you'd see in pro wrestling.

How did Larry Bird get stuck going to the draft? Was Donnie Walsh Jermaine O'Neal Reggie Miller Chuck Person Rik Smits Mark Jackson Jamaal Tinsely an assistant coach not available?

I heard Dan Shaughnessy (sp?) I think, or one of the old guard Boston Globe writers on with Dan Patrick and he said this was "the most important day in Celtics history" because if they don't finish one or two they will suck forever.

A bit of an overstatement, I think, but it is a big day for this once proud franchise anyway.
