Well, yeah, there is that. :D

Of course, I wouldn't be opposed to the Celtics making a run ... Paul Pierce (and to a lesser extent, Scot Pollard, who's done for the year) make it easy for me to root for them.

    With the Spurs' announcer, NO.

Why don't defenders force Ginobili to go right?
I wouldn't panic if I was the Suns, it's just Game 1 on the road.

The Suns NEEDED that victory yesterday though. They were a few steps away from getting inside of San Antonio's head for a rare change in that rivalry.

I'm still putting Paul ahead of Bean for the MVP. If Kobe had Paul's team he'd still be bitching about the roster.

And San Antonio is winning the west as much as I hate to say it.

If Kobe was on Chris Paul's team (w/a decent point guard) and Paul was on the Lakers (w/a decent SG) then the Hornets would be the No. 1 seed. Paul would've had to deal with injury issues to Bynum and Gasol all season. Not sure even he could've dealt with that as good as Kobe did, and I think Chris Paul is outstanding.

Of course in a game of talent that could be true. But Kobe would never be motivated enough to lead guys like West, Chandler and Mo-Pete to 60 wins. And be reminded that Paul is 22 years old and showing more leadership and maturity than Bean has in his entire career.

I like how you've conveniently left Stojakovic off that list.
Actually, I think heading into this season, a quartet of David West (coming into the season averaging 18 ppg, 8 rpg), Tyson Chandler (coming off playing with Team USA), Peja Stojakovic (former All-Star and one of the league's top 3-point shooters) and Maurice Peterson was MUCH more palatable than Derek Fisher, Lamar Odom, Luke Walton and Kwame Brown. Remember, none of the bench guys (Farmar, Vujacic, Bynum etc.) had seemingly blossomed yet.

Yet the Lakers improved and improved and eventually won the No. 1 seed. But heading into the season, I'd much rather have had the Hornets' supporting cast.

Did someone lead the Hornets to 60 wins?

EDIT: Mark Jackson on Allen Iverson: "Pound for pound, probably the best player in NBA history."

Van Gundy argued with him, rightfully so.

Ha. Great catch. I wish I would've called him on that, too.

I'm biased, but I'd just like to say that the Lakers' PA guy knows what he's doing. He doesn't scream "TRAVVEELLLIINGGGGGG!!!!" like Orlando's idiot during the Shaq/Hardaway years. he doesn't orgasm when he introduces the team like the Bulls' guy during the Jordan years. And he doesn't ruin the game like the Spurs' guy.

No one comes to hear the PA guy. And you shouldn't treat your crowd like they need to have the entire game narrated for them.

    - Another good basket by Klieza.

Linas has been a nice security blanket for the Nuggets.

    :D ;D :D  :( 8) ??? :-X
