    My intent is in no way meant to criticize the Kilgore hire. This is an thought-provoking point, though. I've always thought it an interesting exercise how major papers find their writers. For a supposed open-minded industry, they can be fairly narrow-minded in this particular practice.

    Went to school with Kilgore. He showed me the ropes. Great guy. Congrats man.

    Adam Kilgore knows his stuff. When I was covering Va. Tech for the Bristol paper, I ran into him quite a bit and he was always busting his butt.
