I read another version of the story saying that experts believe the pirates didn't realize who they were originally firing at (it was apparently dark and they pretty much fire w/o thinking).
Can you imagine the amount of shit in those pirates' pants when they figured out who they were attacking?

Sadly, this is not a final.

I'm going to guess that the rules of engagement require that they not leave survivors adrift at sea.

That might fall under the terms of the Geneva Convention, but I could be wrong.

It's a long season but we're going to play them one at a time and the good lord ...oh, you know the rest.

The Pirates offered to trade Andrew McCutchen to the Nats in exchange for a cease-fire, but the Nats merely laughed.

Just hasn't been the same for the pirates since Bonds went free agent ...

A few weeks ago they attacked a Dutch warship, with similar results. We ain't dealing with the brightest bulbs in the string here.

Nationals 5, Pirates 0 would be played before 5,000 fans in either city

They forgot the first rule of piracy: Never attack a U.S. frigate. They should have learned from the First and Second Barbary Wars.
