    Job Summary:

    NASCAR Illustrated, the leading print magazine and online showcase of the unique personalities who make NASCAR the nation’s most-popular form of motorsports, is seeking an experienced, dynamic journalist to lead our team of staffers through the rapidly changing media landscape.

    You must have a demonstrated record of journalistic leadership and thrive on the challenges of finding great stories and communicating them in print, online, in social media and video to an audience whose passion for their sport is unparalleled.

    You will lead our highly professional, deeply committed, and enthusiastic team of writers and graphic artists who are eager to continue to learn, grow, and aim for the top. They are seeking a powerful, creative, driven, and inspiring leader, one who will lead and challenge them to create an excellent product.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Grow readership in print and online
    • Manage five subeditors, reporters and design professionals.
    • Maintain an active presence among the men and women at the top levels of the sport.
    • Represent NASCAR ILLUSTRATED both inside the garage and the boardrooms of the sport’s top executives and team owners
    • Contribute to a positive team environment.
    Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

    • Three to five years as an editor.
    • Digital, print and social-media experience.
    • A strong track record of building readership
    • Effective time management skills.
    • The ability to exceed expectations in a results-oriented environment.
    • Professional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    • College degree preferred.
    • Experience in Microsoft Word and a demonstrated following in social media, from Twitter to Facebook to LinkeIn.
