    NASCAR seeks an experienced digital strategist who is at the forefront of the digital evolution and prepared to take NASCAR to a leadership position among all sports properties in the discipline. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success creating innovative campaigns in complex environments where managing and influencing leaders in diverse geographies has been required. Work experience in an integrated setting, current digital responsibility in the areas of brand / consumer communications and sponsorship marketing, as well as significant experience in comparable sports platforms are strongly desired.

    The leader in this position will be expected to stay on top of the latest trends and be both familiar and active with the digital and social media space and how new technologies can ensure NASCAR remains an innovator.

    This leader will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, an aptitude for leading change in a complex environment, acumen in providing high-level digital counsel to senior management and the ability to make decisions and move to action with a hands-on approach. Ideally, this candidate also will have experience in educating internal staff on best practices and rules of engagement within the digital space, understanding and experience managing crisis communications through digital and social mediums and experience with NASCAR activation or comparable major league sports experience.

    Required skills/experience:
    • The ideal candidate will be a business-minded strategic thinker, collegial, proactive and energized by the challenge of building a new entity.
    • The candidate must possess a passion for digital communications.
    • A demonstrable ability to establish and maintain productive, mutually-beneficial relationships with management, professional staff, third-party partners / vendors, celebrity talent and media of all types is expected.
    • A Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years experience are required. Master’s degree is a plus.

    NASCAR is searching for a talented professional to join our team in the position of Stakeholder Communications Director based at our Charlotte office.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    The Stakeholder Communications Director within NASCAR’s Integrated Marketing Communications department will play a critical role in leading NASCAR’s collaboration with the marketing and communications teams at various entities throughout the industry, especially race teams and the track operators.

    This position will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Integrated Marketing Communications leadership team and across all NASCAR departments to identify and then strategically mobilize NASCAR resources to support key promotional initiatives of NASCAR stakeholders.

    The position will also play a lead role in strategic development and execution of NASCAR-led industry initiatives that are central to communications success for the entire sport over the course of a season. Some of these annual events that are led or strongly supported by NASCAR include: NASCAR PR Summit, Pre-season Media Day, NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race / NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction weekend, Chase for the Sprint Cup, Ford Championship Weekend, Champion’s Week, etc.

    Required skills/experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and 5 to 7 years related experience in communication, marketing or related field and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
    • Ideal candidate must have impeccable writing skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in an extremely fast paced environment, be extremely organized and have an eye for detail.
    • 35-50% travel required including weekends.
