shottie: Au contraire. Not only did many of us "inform" them when they first started running it, but that e-mail in turn got me a pissy phone call from then-NASCAR PR honcho Ramsey Poston.

I told him if he wanted to tell me EXACTLY how the rating was compiled, not just "it's a combination of 17 numbers" but how they're weighted, then we'd run them. Until that happened, readers cared about the money (a LOT. We got a ton of e-mails when they dropped money) more than their invented "rating."

I'm at least glad to see they put the money back in. But trust me when I tell you several of us e-mailed Terry Taylor.

 

Good to hear ... wish they'd listened.
