Yea, how'd I miss that one? I knew that.

I haven't read either GP bio, for some reason. Maybe I'll check and see if I can find it at the local bookstore tomorrow.

"John and Linda live in Omaha
Joe is somewhere on the road
We lost Davy in the Korean War
    Still don't know what for
    Don't matter anymore."

"Hello in There," by John Prine, from his first album. It's a classic.

  2. Starting again.

We live in a trailer at the edge of town.
You never see us because we don't come around.
We got 25 rifles just to keep the population down.

Revolution Blues, NY (Had originally typed the name of the album, which is my favorite of his)

    I went to church incognito
    and everybody rose
    The Rev. Smith recognized me
and punched me in the nose

Nice one, RM. Just broke out AC's Greatest Hits. Hadn't listen to it in a while.

    Nobody? OK ...

All alone I watch the candle burn
    Burnin' at both ends

    Tears In the Rain, Triumph

Ya, I cheated and used google, but I like this thread, so I want to keep it going.

I buried men before their time,
    alcohol and blackened lung
But how to bury seven of these
    Appalachian miners' sons
who stormed the beaches wave on wave
and sailed home to these rocky graves
in family plots that bear their names

Don't know what song it is but if they ever make a movie of "The Bedford Boys" that would be a great song for it.

Ricky Skaggs, pall? Really? Yeah, I Googled, too ... Seven Hillsides.

This should be an easy one for some:

    I have always been awed
By them, to think that every single facet of every life is
    Regulated and directed from within!

    "2112" by Rush, I think.

Time is so old and love so brief
Love is pure gold and time a thief

I should have ruled Canadians ineligible on that.
