    Isn't Giuliani Catholic? If so, he'll never get the GOP nomination. The far right would never allow it.

    McCain's a Catholic lite, aka Episcopolian (SP).
    But that won't be a problem.
    The guy that is Catholic and who the far right wing approves of is the Kansas senator, Brownback.
    Recently converted, and, if I remember correctly, a member of Opus Dei.

    Many of the more vocal Catholics are social liberals, but as for the rank and file, both sides of the aisle are well-represented.

    The thing with Guiliani is not his specific denomination, but that he's pro-choice. Big fly in the ointment when it comes to a nomination.
