    Book came out about the same time as "Candy," by Terry Southern. Both outrageously funny and great sendups of the sexual primness of the time. Forerunners of "Portnoy's Complaint."

    Myra Breckenridge is part of the glorious triumvirate of weirdness that also includes the aforementioned Candy and Beyond The Valley of the Dolls.

    Myra Breckenridge is like an acid trip in a gay bar, at least what I THINK an acid trip in a gay bar would be like.

    Plus! Mae West doing a serviceable version of Otis Redding's Hard To Handle!
