Hey 500K people are likely going to perish because the junta wants to flex its muscles. And yet the only thread on this situation is about Al Gore. :'(

    Should we send in Rambo?

    The classic Catch 22.

We should go in, with force, and give these people the help they need.

If we did go in without permission, we are opening the doors for a country like China to amp up nuclear weapon production because if we just go where we please, then they feel the need to protect themselves.

I don't think there is an answer for this problem.

    So what would you do?

Should the United Nations forcibly go into the country?

Do they even have this ability or manpower?

I feel bad about what happened, but for once I want to see the US only help out the countries that have helped us out when we need it.

It's a tragic thing, but it shouldn't be on us to fix it.

    Yeah.

Why go in to Yangon when we can't even get in to the 9th ward?

The U.N. still should help these people. And they need to rise up and throw the bums out.

You mean like Iran helped us fight the Taliban in Afghanistan?

We, and I mean the entirety of the human race, should not sit idly by and watch the demise of these people. The world has the ability and resources to help and it should.

I don't know. I think the folks willing to say tough luck to these folks who don't have two pesos to rub together because they didn't bail out the USA are starting to wear me down.

Hell, with 'em. How about they bail out a big U.S. mortgage lender and we'll talk about giving them some clean water and spam.

    Good point.

We used to be the good guys. Now, we are a long way from being the good guys.
