My step-daughter is kinda awesome :)

So, being the good step-dad I am, I've let my 4-year-old step-daughter choose what she wants to watch tonight. She was watching Hello, Kitty when she turned to me and said, "I don't want to watch this anymore, it's kind of boring." I asked her what she wanted to watch. She looks me in the eye and says, "How about football?"

 

When my niece was around 1, my mom and I had her for an afternoon.

As my brother doesn't have custody, we didn't get to see her much so she didn't know us very well. But it was a football gameday, and we swung by the university's store to check out the goods.

Mac, who hadn't uttered a word since we'd picked her up, pointed to the FSU Seminole emblem and said, "Football!"

She continued all around the store, finding the logo and repeating, "Football!"

Definitely a Proud Aunt moment.

 

I was about to invoke Chris Hansen until I actually opened the thread

Damn...I had the Hansen ready to lock and load.

Cute stories.

 

Story would be better if she had said "Favre sucks."

I was expecting it to be started by Poindexter.

 

It's official ... she's into football. She asked me again this morning (at about 8 a.m.), "Can we watch football right now?"

Biggest problem: She rooted for Jacksonville against my favorite team, the Giants, today. Blue is a boy's color. She likes white better.

 

If it were "My step-daughter whom I teach at high school is kinda awesome : )" then you'd have a point.
