I've got no fancy background, no games, no nothing on my MySpace profile except for a picture of myself and the limited profile info I've made public.

I swear, the MySpace bashing is getting on my nerves.

OK, you don't like it, move on. It's like Olbermann beating the O'Reilly carcass that sits in his studio every night. I swear, flies have been swarming around for two years now.

It's best for keeping in touch with fringe friends. If they were tight with you, sure, you'd already have kept in touch. You also can post your information on there and block it from being seen by anyone other than friends, if you're that anal about it.

It's merely a Swiss Army pocketknife in life's toolbox, capable of a lot but only as much as you want to use it for. If you wanna stalk 14-year-olds, be my guest.

The fancy backgrounds are really easy by using thomas myspace editors.

You can have keep in touch with people you haven't seen in a long time and even look up old classmates from High School or College.

Who found my profile and told the hookers and strippers to start sending me friend requests? Three days after I post I haven't gotten any, I start receiving them.

Be careful not to have your account stolen. Some way to prevent this 1. change your password every so often 2. Don't ever click on rogue messages or bulletins. 3. Make your profile private so only people who know can send you messages.

Contrary to popular belief, you're not a loser if you have a MySpace page. However, you are a loser if you delete a MySpace page for lack of activity -- twice.

Please tell me you're not speaking from experience. ;)

It was only two or three requests in a 2-3 day period, no big deal.
I never click on rogue messages or bulletins.
    I just changed my password.

That doesn't stop the requests from the porn stars...

You can set it so someone has to know your e-mail or last name before they can request to be your friend.

I'm not going to do that (yet). Having too much fun checking out bands I've never heard of that send me friend requests. Some are good, some are mediocre and some are really bad.

My father (who is 50) has a myspace with zero friends. He goes to it strictly to find new music, get a taste for them, and then download their music elsewhere.
