Boy, you kids really want to jump on that term, don't you?

    Under-performing workers.

    Under-performing workers.

    Under-performing workers.

And they existed before the first union every formed and they'll exist for as long as there are people working.

Companies can still fire people who belong to unions; they just need to handle it correctly and observe some level of due process that's outlined in a contract. I've seen plenty of people fired for just cause and I've negotiated plenty of buyouts for other people companies no longer wanted to employ.

"Unions protect under-performing workers!" is usually code for "I'm too cheap to pay dues!"

And bitching about the term "under-performing workers" is usually code for "hitting too close to home." :)

No, not really, I heard that lame excuse every day while I was organizing, mostly from inept people who clung to their jobs by sucking up in every imaginable way. The kind of people who would sell out their co-workers in a heartbeat, that sort of person.

OK. I understand your side, and I've said too much already.

Actually, I think they have something you can take for your "underperforming worker."

    Viva, Viagra! ;D
