Nice to see that Bill Clinton was not the only one touching kitties at the White House.

My three cats will be observing the moment of silence.
Mrs. T. once gave me a toy Socks for Christmas she had found while at Building 19/Ocean State Job Lot/(whatever cutout and salvage emporium). It wasn't even furry - it had a rough surface, kind of like Toonces or Triumph would have.

Nice that the Clintons ditched the cat after they left office.

The cat probably got a more deserving, loving and attentive owner because they did that, although I did find it repugnant that they ditched the cool cat in favor of a slobering puppy.

I'm sure most first families do the same thing, but I have a real problem with anyone who ditches a pet.

He'll lie in state on a bed of kitty litter for three days.

It's not like they dropped Socks off in a paper bag in the middle of a field somewhere... they gave the cat to Betty Curry, longtime secretary and friend. I've no problem with that.
