My first big interview

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by NewsRegisterReporter, Feb 28, 2008.

  1. Aside from our AD, basketball, and baseball coach I really have'nt had any big interviews. I just finished a piece on point shaving and I got to talk to Tony Sinisi of Las Vegas Sports Consultants and I would say that was my biggest interview to date. However this week I got an interview with my biggest so far, Gary Williams of the University of Maryland. Wish me luck!

Um, good luck. He's pretty low key, so I wouldn't sweat it.

I rather enjoyed fishwrapper's advice to not "sweat it" in a post about Gary Williams.

Don't sweat it because Gary will sweat enough for both of you.

    Best of luck!

I did a phoner with him once, plus I've been at Comcast Center for a lot of the home games the past two seasons. If Maryland's won, he can catch you off guard with a wry sense of humor. If they've lost, ask what you need and don't expect anything more than that.

Just don't ask Gary why eating chicken wings makes him so sleepy. He doesn't like that.

No college basketball sweat list is complete without Billy Donovan.
