You should have been there the day Buscema nearly kicked Peter Zellen's ass in the press box. Buscema went postal on the guy.

Good - cause it looks lame - like he can't string two thoughts together. New York is a big paragraph town.

He's good. But I'll still take Vaccaro.

That's not an especially bold statement. Mike V. is a superstar. I'd take George Brett over Dave Wright. Doesn't mean Wright can't play.

geez, touchy, aren't we? the thread title raised discussion of fave sports columnists in "new york." in my humble opinion, this kid isn't close to vac, powell, araton, etc. it's not as if i said he sucks. i believe i agreed that he's "good, but i'll still take vaccaro."

    lighten up, francis.

I know it's A-Rod and the Yankees...but he hit a grand slam in an April game that will be meaningless come October.
The way he writes the column makes it sound waaay too important.
If it were anyone else who hit the grand slam, no one would care.
But because it's the $252 million man, from now on every home run he hits someone's going to write a "New York fans cheered for A-rod!" column about it.
