Neat story in the Toronto Star about a default Windows XP wallpaper (which I currently have on my desktop). A guy from Vanity Fair was obsessed with finding the source of the idyllic photo, and he found it in rural Ontario.

    I'm all over this.

Double J, it's actually in Kilbride, a suburb of my hometown, Burlington. (Who would have thought Burlington would have burbs?)

Kilbride's north of Highway Five in Escarpment country. My sister lived there for about 10 years and that photo perfectly captures the area.

That's a great story. Good piece of detective work.

My aunt and uncle lived in Burlington for many years and so I knew Burlington had suburbs - Waterdown, Clappison's Corners, Hamilton, Milton, etc. :D

Yeah, the thriving community of Clappison's Corners. :)

    Junction of Highways 5 & 6.

Used to be a great mileage sign just west of the intersection on 5: Paris 40, London 120.

    I'm calling bullshit.

    It's a kilometerage sign.

I believe it's still there. Only they added another city.
