Holy shit. P.J. finally covered something - and got drunk doing it.
I hope to god people don't think this is what we do.

Re: My Boys - the show

I actually watch this show, for some reason. It doesn't even particularly make me laugh. I don't find it remotely interesting. Mike Fontenot might have been the best actor ever to grace the set.

It's like a PG-rated "Sex in the City," except mostly with dudes.

    Yet still, I watch.

My wife was laughing at me last night, however, because of the number of times I was screaming at the TV.

Yeah, it was interesting that she managed to get a column even though she, uh, never works.

Is that not the precise recipe by which to obtain a column?

    The wife likes the show.
    I can tolerate it.

I never watched "Everybody Loves Raymond" - was he ever seen working? Serious question.

He was in the Jets media room once. That's about it, from what I remember. God, I hated that show and everyone in it. Most overrated show ever.

I would love to agree with you, but I never gave it enough of a chance to be able to comment today with any authority. From the snippets I saw, if I had been Raymond's wife I would have targeted my in-laws with a murderous rampage.

I didn't see it very often, but one time Raymond was in the basement watching a game on TV, and his family kept bugging him, and he was upset because he was "covering the game." On TV. At home.

Oscar Madison didn't do too much work, either-at least on the TV show.
