He fixed the Hawaii stuff. I'm actually kind of surprised he wrote about Gator swimming and volleyball. The stuff I was able to sift through made it seem like he actually had knowledge of the sports. Then again, since I know nothing about Gator swimmers in the '92 Olympics, it could be all made up.

He reports that the "avergae GPA score of the incoming students at UF is at a 4.1." I find this difficult to believe.

Maybe that's the average ACT score.

I don't know -- one of my kids had a 4.4 adjusted and DIDN'T get in.

I'm going to go out on a defensive limb here for a minute and try to hold on. The guy came to this board, not trying to say he was a pro journalist, but just a blogger. He outright said that he didn't know how to write, but that he hoped to learn.

I know the hatred of blogs runs deep, but why worry so much over whether or not it is "real," when in fact, it's just a blog. Is there really much of a difference--real or fake--when it comes to blogs?

The only real mistake he made was not lurking on here long enough to realize that this is the worst possible place to ask for an opinion about a personal blog.

Cut the guy some slack and come up with a nicer way to say that you don't think he currently has what it takes to write.

    Gatorsportsnation,

If you're still around, here's some links that may help you. I just glanced at them, so I don't know how in depth they are, but if you are starting to learn from scratch they might help.

Just do yourself a favor and continue as you have been doing, by not claiming to be a journalist and admitting to being a blogger. In the long run it will benefit you, your readers and the pro journalists (some of the old farts nearly have an aneurysm when they hear the word blog ;) ).

I wish you luck with your blog.
