That, sir, is one of the most terrifying things I have ever seen.

It's the first thing I thought of when I read this thread.

I love it and the movie (eh ... maybe not the movie).

I'll let someone else take a stab at it first.

So you'll not tell me this, but feel the need to explain my subtle picture post on the other thread? Hmm.

    Pretty much.

It's not my fault I love everything Dumb and Dumber.

My mom and I got into this conversation a while back, and she told me how she got me going.

I simply refused to go because I did (still do) abhor any change. Her answer was "Hiro, it's your third birthday now, and they don't make diapers for three year olds!"

Somehow in my baby brain that made sense, and I never had a problem again.

So, lies are always an option.

this is a bit unorthodox, but when we started, we put the potty in the living room where we spent most of our time. when she felt the need, it was right there. no running down the hall trying not to pee her pants. once she felt secure with that, we moved it to the bathroom.

Nothing wrong with that. When I was a nanny, I used to let them have it in the living room. It had a fold down lid, so they could even sit on it like a chair if they wanted to. It helped make a difference in the fear of the chair itself.

Here's something I've been wondering: If you manage to train the 2-year-old and he ends up clogging the toilet, what should you do?
