When I was covering Brewers games as a stringer for the AP in the late '70s/early 80s, there were a lot of people saying that Molitor and Yount would eventually end up in Yankee uniforms. Fortunately, that never came close to happening.

I agree with you that it will factor in voting, I'm not so sure that it should though.

 

I think it's funny that there is a Yankees player that has won an MVP as a shortstop and it's not Jeter...

 

It is fair to question if it should count, but there is no question that it does.
