    Ohio State
    Northern Iowa
    Wisconsin
    Indiana
    Southern Illinois
    Iowa
    Minnesota
    Wichita State
    Illinois
    Drake

I'd have it 6-4, Big Ten.

Indiana's been too tough lately NOT to be able to handle Creighton, even on the road.

No way. Big Ten is top-to-bottom better. MVC would win a few, but that's about it.

And by the way, that Indiana State at Wisconsin matchup would be over in about 10 minutes.

  4. So would the Michigan-Northern Iowa matchup. What's your point?

UNi would run so many offensive sets on Michigan, Tommy Amaker would be wishing he could have gone to grad school and work on his doctorate.

My point is that pairing up by conference standings (as they stand now) wouldn't be a good idea... I'd rather take about 3 years' worth of standings and do it that way. I live in an MVC town and like the conference, so don't go thinking I was somehow pimp-slapping the Valley.

I'd just much rather see Wisconsin matched up against SIU or Wichita State.

There's no really good way to do them. If you base on last year's records, you get teams that aren't what they were then, and lesser matchups as a result. You can't really do them on the fly as in my example. And ultimately, TV's going to dictate what the matchups are anyway.

  8. Didn't Wichita State just lose to Indiana State?

Yup, but based on player experience/road ability, I'd rather see Wichita State play at Wisconsin (or SIU at Wisconsin) than to see ISU go up there... I think it'd be a quick knock-out.

Indiana State would be a great game for Iowa.

I have been on record here and in my newspaper in saying that the Valley is a really good league. I'm not sure it is as good as the top six BCS leagues, but it's very good. It's at least as good as that next tier of Mountain West and WAC and A-10.

By the way, the Valley is 5-4 this season against the Big Ten and 15-12 against the BCS conferences

    Here are the games:

    Missouri State (RPI 15)
    beat Wisconsin (neutral court)
    lost to Oklahoma State (n)

    Northern Iowa (RPI 35)
    lost at Washington
    beat Iowa State at home
    won at Iowa

    Indiana State (RPI 37)
    lost at Indiana
    beat Purdue at home

    Creighton (RPI 34)
    lost at Nebraska
    (also beat Xavier)

    Southern Illinois (RPI 14)
    lost to Arkansas (n)
    beat Minnesota (n)
    beat Virginia Tech (n)
    lost at Indiana

    Bradley (RPI 32)
    beat DePaul
    beat Rutgers (n)
    lost to Illinois (n)
    lost at Michigan State
    beat Iowa State (n)

    Evansville (109)
    lost to Miami-Fla. (n)
    lost at Missouri

    Wichita (51)
    won at LSU
    won at Syracuse
    lost to USC (n)

    Illinois State (106)
    lost to Florida State (n)
    won at St. John's

    Drake (120)
    won at Iowa State
    beat Iowa

So there you have it, every team in the league with the exception of the sleeveless Aces have beat a BCS team.

    Just an FYI, accguy:

The UE-Miami game was in Evansville as part of a thrilling [/sarcasm] three-day event featuring the Aces, Miami, Cleveland State and Buffalo. So I'd consider it an Evansville home game, which makes the loss that much worse. ;)
