    Take Me Home, Country Roads is the state song of West Virginia, even though the state is only briefly mentioned. What state is the song really about?

    None of the landmarks are located in West By God.
    Denver wrote the song having never set foot, muchless looking at a map, of the state.
    That said ... It's a great, well-known world-wide song.

    There was an effort to change it to some Kathy Mattea song, but thankfully it failed.
