The preps writer at the Murray (Ky.) Ledger tweeted yesterday he was out.

Kid had just gotten married in like the summer or fall.

Friend at a nearby newspaper to Murray said the paper's cutbacks were "absurd ones" and there are fewer than 11 positions remaining in newsroom.

Nothing on the paper's site about any of it.

Second Kentucky paper to cut back hard in the last six months. First was The News-Enterprise in Elizabethtown, which severed ties with me in September 2015 and was too foolish to never offer @KYSportsWriter a full time job (he went to a sister paper and is killing it while The N-E continues to miss news and make one bad error after another).

    That sucks.

I was curious of the circulation size -- according to this, it's 6,000. My paper's a similar size (slightly larger, actually, based on what I was last told) and hasn't had more than nine positions in the decade I've been here.
