    "similar treatment"???

You think their in-office crimes are even REMOTELY comparable?

I think the grizzly image of the scattered remains of a U.S. soldiers body sprawled over the Iraqi desert supersedes your concern over our already questionable national image.

Would Yawn and friends care to list 3-4 positive things that W has done in his 6+ years as president?

... and the grisly pictures too.

This bid for non-partisanship is touching, but the fact is it has to start at the top, and Bush has shown no signs of working with Congress. The Belgium ambassador, Gonzalez, calling Dems defeatists and withdrawal dates surrender dates, etc. He's the one that has to make the move toward partisanship.

So the Democrats don't have to move? Why is that?

When you're polling in the low thirties, you're the one who has to move.

    End of story.

Symbolic or not, they're moving on the side of the wants of the American people regarding the war in Iraq.

Because Bush provides no room. "You're with us or against us." Where's the negotiating room in there?

  10. Murdoch's a slug, but he's not stupid. He's still a businessman who has to do business with whoever's in power -- this is the stalwart conservative guy who lets the butchers of Tiennammen Square censor his cable channel and tell him what books he can publish. If, as I suspect, the power in DC changes hands in 2008, he'll be slow-dancing with the D's at the inaugural ball.

Ace: We've been down that road. You'll grow a Rip Van Winkle beard waiting for an answer from the house apologists.

Agreed. Him and Ted Turner, you'll recall, both hated the idea of cable news at first. Once they saw the $$ (Turner for creating the niche, Murdoch for filling a perceived niche for conservatives), they changed teams.
