Multiple (non-sports) positions, North County Times

The North County (Ca.) Times posted multiple openings today on journalismjobs.com:

They're advertising for various beat reporters, copy editors, designers. All plural.

Did this paper have a mass exodus? Change ownership? Growing so rapidly they need to fill multiple positions?

 

What does it mean they value enthusiasm over experience?

 

That's industry code for "will hire cheap".

 

For a paper that size not to pay relocation expenses is criminal. Not to mention that most Lee papers do. Fuck em!

 

And they want applicants to fly in on their own dime for an interview?

 

You've got to be kidding.

 

That paper is pushing 100,00 or more. Fucking ridiculous cheapness, and Lee normally pays for relocation expenses and interview expenses.
