    Description:

    The Santa Clarita Valley Signal newspaper/Signal Multimedia is looking for a multimedia journalist for its award-winning sports department. The Signal is looking for a journalist to work either full time (with full benefits) or part time (20-25 hours per week). Must have prior journalism experience and knowledge of Adobe InDesign is a plus, as the position does include pagination. Sports journalist will have the ability to contribute on the video side, but will primarily be counted on to report on sports inside the Santa Clarita Valley.     Yep, Magic Mountain ... where the end of "National Lampoon's Vacation" and the immortal "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park" were filmed.

    Spent a summer here as the sports intern. One of the writers left for the family business, but he still does freelance work. The guy they brought in to replace him is now the copy editor. Santa Clarita is in northern Los Angeles county. It's a nice, clean suburb, which means there's not much to do. My main source of entertainment was the lake, which is known for world-class bass fishing. LA city is close enough and has a ton to do. Prep sports wise, the schools in this valley play top notch football, baseball, softball, volleyball and have produced some elite runners. Definitely a city crazy about its football.
