To show you how sick I am, I’m watching Ali tonight and the second half of Ravens-Chiefs and recording Monday so I can watch Lions-Packers

I’m obviously looking forward to the part about his death to see YankeeFan’s interview

 

We already know his opinion on the name change.

And, we have a David Kindred sighting. One of our own, folks.

 

I hadn't been aware of the attempt to blind Ali during the first Liston fight. And the first-round KO in the second bout might have been a matter of Liston just giving up, I think. (He refused to come out in Round 7 or 8 of the first fight.)

According to the doc, Ali had grown a couple inches taller after he won the title. Liston knew he had a losing hand, so maybe he just laid down.

This got me thinking of my favorite Mark Knopfler song.
