A friend lost his nephew, 40 years old. He didn't have many symptoms until awakening yesterday morning. His wife took him to the ER after not getting an appointment with his doctor. After extensive exams, they transferred him to another hospital in Denver, where he died as he was being admitted Wednesday afternoon. This has really hit home. His wife, at 40, is a widow with two sons, 9, and 11. A big FU to all that still think this is a hoax.

We just cancelled our anniversary trip to Charleston in 3 weeks. We already had committed to driving the 12+ hours, and the hotel looked like it was taking efforts to clean, but we just didn’t want to feel uncomfortable the entire time.

So Illinois enters Phase 4 tomorrow. Bars and restaurants reopen and gatherings of less than 50 people.

Out of the blue, the state gaming board announces casinos will reopen next Wednesday.

While i should be happy going back to work, cases are spiking across the country where casinos have opened. We aren't supposed to be in Phase 4.

And since I've been playing by the rules, was finally going to leave the state for a family visit in July (along with taking care of a medical test, which will have to be put off for 3 months because we've been told to expect no time off or set schedules for the first 90 days open.

    FOCK!

That estimate isn't higher than any of a number of studies I've seen reported on, several of which I believe have previously been posted in this thread (though I'm not wading back through hundreds of pages to check).

That estimate is, frankly, disappointing -- if you're hoping for this to be over sooner. A British study done in spring estimated single digit percent transmission worldwide up to at maximum 10 percent. Two months later and the US hasn't reached any higher than that.

If that estimate is correct, we're 3.5 months in (or maybe more like 5.5 months) and still 93 percent of the population is unaffected. Hell of a long way to go to get to 60-70.
