As noted earlier, Mass. schools are now closed until first Monday in May. I'm not betting they open that day, either.

In Mississippi, where the Trumpist governor refuses to close beaches, the case count increased from 80 on 3/21 to 320 om 3/24. That's the highest increase in the country. Of course, it's easier to increase by large percentage figures when you start out relatively low. But in that time, the state, which is 35th in total population, has jumped from 31st in cases to 23rd.

Colorado governor orders statewide stay-at-home order through April 11.

The state's cases are nearly doubling every three days, though it's trending down a bit:

    March 17-20: 98 percent increase
    March 18 -21: 119 percent increase
    March 19-22: 113 percent increase
    March 20-23: 98 percent increase
    March 21-24: 92 percent increase
    March 22-25: 83.4 percent increase

You can figure that around half the patients who get a vent for covid are going to die.

It probably doesn't really matter that it's trended down since testing still sucks. As long as the deaths are going up you know there is an issue. Up almost three times in two days. Still a small number relatively, especially compared to the worst hit areas, but it says something. So does the dramatic increase in hospitalizations.
