if you don't have a shitload of money, the mexican coast might not be a bad place to research.

i, for one, hope you pull the trigger if you seriously think it's best.

I don't know. I've always heard island living to be perenially overrated.

    Jeebus, that's bad.

I suggest you move as far from that joke as possible.

Well, Tom, the move is still in the earliest stages. I mean, I'm just now researching the "where" part. The Mexican coast is next on my list, so thanks for the suggestion.

Whether or not I have the balls is the real question. I moved across the country with no friends to just live in a different part of the the nation before, and it was a horrible, backwoods place.

So, just because I'll still be on here -- for a while -- doesn't mean I wimped (can I say that?) out. I'll absolutely keep everyone posted as the research grows. As an added bonus, I'll out myself if I go through with the move. Not that anyone gives a shit.

Tortola. Just go. Developed enough that you don't have to kill your own goats for dinner, not so developed that you get tourists looking for Pizza Hut. Only drawback are the roads, completely vertical with 180 degree hairpin turns and 99% of the islanders are unlicensed drivers...but if you survive the drive, the destination is always worth it.

You need to find out immigration laws for the county you choose.
