    I would have liked to have seen George Mason to represent Year of the Mid-Majors. Se be it.

    Defend his selection over Bettis, Pujols etc. particularly the latter. If you're going to go with the best player on a championship team, you might as well take the one who is also the best player in the league. The choices were weak, their selection weaker.

    The Heat won the NBA title. Whoopeee.
    Wade does charity work. So do thousands of other athletes.
    Why is this a good pick?

    Wade single-handedly took the Heat from a 0-3 deficit to the title.

    When's the last time a single player took a team that looked so outclassed and in the dire situation the Heat was in in Game 3, and won it by himself?

    A fine choice.

    Was he not playing in the 1st 3 games? Pujols' Cards looked pretty crappy for the whole season, let alone 3 games.
