    Ozzy Osbourne
    Rob Zombie
    James Hetfield
    Scott Ian

  2. Piotr,

Obviously you have a little harder taste than me, but what the hell? Osbourne and Hetfield I can understand (I've even seen Metallica live; great show).
Scott Ian I had to google.
    Rob f'n Zombie?
If it's just your personal taste, I can't argue that, but damn, THESE are two of your four? Ever?

I was throwing out a metal list, to counteract the Green Day talk.

Green Day, not a bad band at all. Just don't call them "punk." That was one of the more laughable media categorizations of the last 20 years or so.

Zombie and Ian are personal taste. Ian is the man behind Anthrax, a metal band I rather enjoy, and which went for humor and songs based on comic books and Stephen King novels instead of Satan and sorcery. They're kind of the Rush of thrash metal, right down to the whiny singer.

Zombie was merely a nod to the thread's idea that it had to be individuals, which I soon abandoned. I will say that he brought the cheesy horror-movie vibe to metal in eth 1990s, helped make it entertaining again. I'm not sure who I would replace him with, though I'm open to suggestions.

And, because I'm bored, another list:

    Jimmy Page
    Eddie Van Halen
    Neil Peart
    Jimi Hendrix

(Uh, Mount kickass classic rock instrumentalists)

  4. I should have been clearer. I know a little about Anthrax, but didn't recognize Ian's name. Now I know him more as they guy on all the VH1 shows.
Zombie is a bit of a stretch, I'd say.
