Not many people love impacting with a solid object at 45 miles per hour.

Lazy reporters and writers constantly do this sort of thing. I remember reading a story about a guy who drowned while out fishing, and he had also supposedly died doing what he loved. Unless he really did love choking on water and algae, but I doubt it.

As an aside, gotta love the comment from Mr. Gung-Ho Marine about how you don't "win" a medal, you "earn" one, and obviously the reporter is "a very liberal person or just incredibly stupid, most likely both, this being Ohio," because he doesn't know the difference.

    Thanks for your tolerance, dickweed.

23-year-old man killed yesterday in my town while riding his bike to work. He was very passionate about riding instead of driving and meticulously planned his route. He was hit by a school bus. Yep, a local TV station's online story said "he died doing what he loved most."

It's the same kind of guy who gets all in a twist when you refer to a Marine as a "soldier."

    Get over yourself already.

See that all the time. Rains hard, it's a monsoon. Temp goes below 40 F, it's Arctic-like.

Don't forget holiday stories about dieters fighting the "Battle of the Bulge."

Was it a battle of the bulge for the ages?

What's wrong with that? If a reporter writes about the service branches, I'd hope they know the difference between a soldier, Marine, sailor and airman. Knowing the military also prevents a reporter from referring to a rifle as a machine gun.

LOL. We're going to rip the Marine for pointing out a reporter's mistake because he was a big meanie in pointing it out?

Isn't this basic stuff a reporter should know?

Since we're parsing language, it's bronze star recipient in the case of this story.

Sounds like something basic a marine should know.
