    Nicholas Cage.

Has been in some good flicks, but they succeed in spite of him.

And his performance in "Peggy Sue Got Married" may be the most needlessly annoying in cinematic history.

    Sirs, Madames,

A defence of the indefensible: I thought DiCaprio was good in The Aviator--which was a spectacular film. Add Gilbert Grape and, well, that's about it.

Michael Douglas. (The only guy he plays is a variation of Gordon Gekko)

The Sheens. (The whole freakin' lot of them, you can have them)

    YHS, etc

Ebert in his 3 1/2 star review of Insomnia: "Pacino and Williams are very good together. Their scenes work because Pacino's character, in regarding Williams, is forced to look at a mirror of his own self-deception. The two faces are a study in contrasts. Pacino is lined, weary, dark circles under his eyes, his jaw slack with fatigue. Williams has the smooth, open face of a true believer, a man convinced of his own case."
Angels In America won how many Emmys? Including Pacino's?
Face it: You're betraying personal animus here. It has nothing to do with artistic merit.

Is Tom Cruise sufficiently favorably rated to be considered overrated?

    again, movie stars all. 8) 8) 8)

there's a difference between movie stars and actors.

    julia roberts = movie star.
    meryl streep = actress.

    tom cruise = movie star.
    anthony hopkins = actor.

it's money-making, box-office draw vs. someone who raises the bar in whatever film they are in. there is room in the pool for everyone. 8) 8) 8)

Robert Downey Jr. If not for the lurid personal problems, no one would pay any notice.

He also helped ruin the movie version of one of my favorite books, For Love of the Game.

The book was all about creating affection for the character. Whether it was the screenplay, Costner's acting or both (probably both), Billy Chapel was mostly an asshole in the movie.

I don't know. He played that superb junkie in Less Than Zero, though I guess he wasn't acting.

    Sirs, Madames,

Robert Downey Jr was Oscar-worthy in Chaplin bio pic and excellent in Wonder Boys. I can't think of something he was bad in.

    Dash Riprock?

    YHS, etc
