Is it just one player who is hopeless for New Jersey? Or is it entire team?

Yeah, I only omitted the Clippers because of the Griffin/Gordon combo. There's slight hope at least.

The Blue Jays have a Top 5 farm system and intend to start spending money in the next few years.

I was thinking about this the other day. Not only has David Stern only congratulated about eight or nine teams for winning the NBA championship in the last 30 years - how many teams haven't even really come close? The Warriors, the Clippers, the Kings, the T-Wolves, the Nuggets, the Bucks, the Wizards, the Raptors, the Grizzlies and the Bobcats? Sure many are expansion teams that didn't have the full 30 years, but it isn't like they are all small markets or never had a possible franchise player on their rosters, but that's a third of the league.

NBA - Warriors 1 playoff appearance in last 17 years. Even T-Wolves got to the conference finals; Nets 2 Finals appearances; Clippers have even gotten to the playoffs more in that span. Pathetic.

Gotta be the Pirates in MLB. I don't care about the division. That's something that is outside of the team's control. Baseball is all about revenue potential (market size), ownership that gives a damn and baseball people who make good decisions. The Pirates have the deadly trio of a small market, ownership that doesn't give a shit about winning and a string of baseball people making awful decisions.

Since the 1979-80 season, eight teams have won the championship:

    Lakers (10), Bulls (6), Spurs (4), Celtics (4), Pistons (3), Rockets (2), Heat (1), 76ers (1).

One 10 others have even reached the Finals -- none more than twice: Trail Blazers (2), Jazz (2), Magic (2), Knicks (2), Nets (2), Mavericks (1), Cavaliers (1), SuperSonics (1), Suns (1), Pacers (1).

Didn't the Clippers come within a game of the conference finals a few years back? Or was that a fever dream?

Recent memory is going to say a lot about the Lions. But they seem to have some things in place to move forward. At the least, they are HUGE improvement over the Millen years.

The Bengals are underrated when it comes to all-around NFL incompetence.
