Go For Wand breaking down in the Breeder's Cup was pretty ugly.

Kevin Steven's crashing to the ice out cold (bad pun, I know) after colliding with Rich Pilon (I think) was scary.

I said Theisman's really because I was battling a stomach bug at the time, and was beginning to feel better, eat some food and watch the game. Then snap. And back to what I had been doing all day long. :-X

I was in the stands at SB XXIII when Krumrie broke his leg, the collective groan when it was shown on replay was something I'll never forget. Few saw it live because it was a lineman. Contrast that with Malarchuk, where everyone was watching him at that very moment. Just awful.

Remember the Mike Cameron-Carlos Beltran collision in San Diego a couple years ago where both players' heads collided in mid-air? Yeah, that one hurt watching it.

Still photo division: Tony Conigliaro's shiner after he got beaned. It seemed to cover half his face.

Non-orthopedic division: Hello, Alex Zanardi anyone? Lost both his legs in a crash when his car was broadsided during a CART race.

    But that's all you see.

Blood just immediately freaks people out, no doubt about it.

And it's really about how it makes you react. You see blood pouring from a man's throat, you know his life is in danger. That's a whole other level.

Yeah. I can't believe it took us this long to mention that.

    My list:

    1.) Malurchuck
    2.) Prothro
    3.) The rest
