    The Presidential Election brought to mind again the feeling that not all states in the union are equal in terms of such things education level of their residences, cultural development, racial harmony, ect.

    I just picked a few states at random but what in your mind is the most backwards state of the union

    This will not fare well. You're going to get votes for Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia, West Virginia, Indiana, South Carolina and it reality, states like Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, California, New York and Massachusetts are backward in areas.
