I thought this might be the perfect chance for NE to upgrade their defense. Then again, I'm not exactly sure what they need and whether or not Minnesota had any of those kinds of players and were willing to give them up.

To believe that Moss was a "problem" you have also to believe that Belichick and Brady are huge liars, since they have vehemently denied that every time the subject has been mentioned.
Belichick dislikes lying, which is one reason he says so little. Brady is a TERRIBLE liar. His whole body breaks out in tells. He doesn't look like he's lying when he talks about Moss.

Not saying the story isn't true, but a story like this has to come out in order for Pats fans to accept Moss's departure.

    Mark Craig of the Strib:

Getting Moss back is the perfect fit. Favre needs a receiver to go up and get his deep passes. We all know it's looking more and more like Sidney Rice won't play this season. So who's going to go up and get those deep balls? Hank Baskett??

Love him or hate him, no one in the history of the NFL has caught the deep ball better than Randy Moss. The key now becomes his attitude if the Vikings don't offer him a long-term contract. And if they do offer him a long-term deal, how will that affect the several players who also are in the final year of their contracts.

Even as a Packer fan, it pains me to write this:

With the Moss move, they're screwed.

Green Bay should be 4-0, not 3-1. The Vikings will, eventually, wake up although it may not happen for a few weeks before their schedule gets easier. Unless the Vikings are 1-6 or 1-7 to start out, they'll have a say in the NFC North.

The Packers will be done in from weak coaching, a soft defense, no run-blocking -- even with an elite offense.

Sorry to say, a frustrating fall is coming...

Something must have been going on in the Pats locker room. Certainly, the Pats should have gotten morethan a single 3rd round pick right?. Marshawn Lynch was worth more than one pick in comparison.

And this hurts them doubly at wideout receiver. You lose an all pro deep threat, and Welker's not going to have near the freedom in the secondary that he got with Moss present.

They better get Jackson or on the surface, this looks like a really bad deal for the Pats. They're basically giving up on this year, and maybe Hoodie's ok with that if there was too much friction in the locker room.

More on the Simmons thing, although this was apparently written last night...
